Small business and groups that would like to provide a program to their workers without paying hundreds of dollars per employee find the group approach more affordable. Workplace Screening Programs provide basic screening and testing that should be carried out by the employees Physician - something already being paid for with health care dollars. Wellness programs promote healthy lifestyle choices and proper balance in our lives. Learning about wellness can promote self responsibility and empowered employees are more productive on the job, experience less absenteeism and feel happier. Over the last several years, there has been an up surge of health related employee wellness programs which tend to place the need to educate the employee, as the problem of the employer. The expectation is that more programs will need to follow as a corporate response to health care. My program empowers each individual to take responsibility for their own health and wellness by educating them on wellness initiatives that are value added in real world situations.

The Six Weeks Program is a fast start as compared to the bi-monthly process (at times over a period of months) in One-on-One coaching. How does it work?

The "Framingham Heart Study" found that lifestyle issues such as exercise, nutrition and stress levels are factors responsible for most chronic illness. Health education programs that succeed in getting people to make healthier lifestyle choices are proving to be wise, cost-effective strategies that can dramatically lower health care costs long-term without impairing benefits or shifting costs. Wellness and member education programs are two types of programs that accomplish this goal. Utilizing the Wellness Inventory self assessment tool prior to the Six Weeks to Wellness program content, will assist in answering lifestyle issues specific to the individuals needs.

Companies are seeking the best way to maximize their investment in healthcare- creative alternatives for providing good care at lower cost. Employees learn to take charge of their health and wellness, as it is a self directed activity. As business strapped for health service dollars are moving away from a "I'll take care of you" model, to one of self-reliance and self-responsibility, employees need skills that coaches provide to help them both understand the process of change and move effectively past limitations on the way to their goals. My Model of Approach is Complete

  • Starting with assessment, evaluation of lifestyle, stress and health. The Wellness Inventory - a 12 point evaluation tool, shows them what areas they need to start with.
  • Positive lifestyle changes are discussed, how to detect and decrease stress, and maximize wellness potential with small, but effective lifestyle changes.
  • Collaborative communication is encouraged, promoting healthy dialog between all practitioners involved in the health and wellness of the individual.
  • Renewable lessons learned in the program are then applied in both the home and office.
  • Sustainable learning - nurturing the creation of a healthy culture within which to live and work.

What is included in what I offer?

  • Six Weeks to Wellness - Taking Responsibility for my Health and Wellness. Seminar work book follows course content for all presentations. Each segment is delivered in a 1 - 1.5 hour presentation - and can be done over an extended lunch hour. Included in the workbook are work sheets, tools and lifestyle information pages to support the program.
  • The Wellness Inventory - on line computer generated self assessment tool evaluating 12 areas of wellness based on the answers the individual answers. This is a private assessment - the answers are not shared with the employer.
  • Access to on line data, resources and information - As part of the subscription service to the Wellness Inventory, included in each person being sponsored into the program, up to date resources are available for further exploration, utilization and implementation.
  • On the Spot Coaching - Use of real time problems are worked on in the weekly sessions in order to determine better outcome alternatives thus leading to and becoming more positively harmonious as a corporation, small business or “family”.
  • ADDITIONALLY: One-on-One Coaching - Separate coaching contracts can be offered to those individuals wanting to further develop lifestyle changes beyond the goals being established and offered. Fees are the responsibility of the employee if he/she should contract with the coach for further coaching sessions.
